Wit me and I’ll teach you something really neat.
1) Go to Google and search: click here
2) Go to Yahoo and search: click here
3) Go to Bing and search: click here
See anything? Just do it, I’ll hang on.
Did anyone looks? If perhaps you looked, you’ll observe that Adobe Reader is in the top 2. And if not for Ask giving top ranking to Wikipedia, Adobe would have the most notable spot for “click here” out of all primary search engines. Move Bing. Click here
Here’s the kicker. Adobe Acrobat doesn’t use the phrase “click here” online. They aren’t “optimized” for the phrase click here. They didn’t even try to achieve high ranking for the phrase click the link. And yet there they are, just about glued to the top of page one.
So why is Paving material ranked in the top for a phrase they aren’t targeting and they aren’t optimized for?
Convenient! Adobe is ranked at the top of search engines for the term “click here” because about 2, 459, 417 websites link to Adobe with the phrase “click here. ” You know… click here to download Clayish Reader. Because how different can people read your pdf?
Humor me again, this one is all about you. Yes, personally. Let’s do a little test.
1) Head to Google and click on the “advanced search” website link.
2) Type your best keyword into the “exact wording or phrase” series. The one you really want to rank for.
3) Now click on the rare link that says “Date, use and more”
4) Look for the brand that says “Where your keywords show up” and select “in links to the page”
5) Just click search
The results you see are sites that contain incoming links containing your very best keyword. The sites with most incoming links that contain the keyword are ranked at the pinnacle. Is your site there?
Now discussing go back to the click here silliness.
In Google, the quantity 2 site is an advertising organization named (ready? ) — Click Here. They have only 119 links to their site. So nope, they terribly lack 2 million inbound links either. Feel better? But they are maximized for the phrase Click this link. It’s in their name tag, it’s in their meta tags, it’s in their content. Heck, really even their domain name. And that’s why they’re on page one of Google. Aggressive on-page seo.
However, you’ll notice that “Click Here, the Promoting Agency” is not on page one of Bing or Bing.
So, the acquire lesson is that Adobe is within page you of all 3 search engines because lots of men and women link to them with click here as the linking text. Click the link, the marketing agency, is on page 1 of Yahoo because they optimized the website for the saying Just click here, but that had not been enough for Yahoo or Bing.
